Extend Your Stay For Only $142 Per Night
North Texas in autumn offers a cornucopia of exciting activities, so we’ve again made special arrangements with our host hotel to offer a generous rate of $142 per night (plus taxes and fees) for MAG conference attendees who choose to extend their visit before or after the conference. You can contact the hotel directly, through Reslink, to make your extended reservation. Please make sure not to include Tuesday and Wednesday in your check-in/check-out range or you will be charged for those nights.

Stay an extra day or two and experience the State Fair of Texas, which runs through Sunday, October 17. The largest event of its kind in the United States, the State Fair features some of the world’s most imaginative foods: You haven’t lived (or become a candidate for a coronary bypass) until you’ve slathered fried ice cream with fried butter and washed it down with fried Coca-Cola! Other local attractions include Historic Downtown Grapevine (yes, great Texas wines can be found there), the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, and Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth.

Now playing for our performing arts aficionados and architecture buffs: Five More Reasons to Hang Out in Cowtown and Big D: 1) Amon Carter Museum (designed by Phillip Johnson); 2) Kimbell Art Museum (Louis Kahn); 3) Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center (I.M. Pei); 4) Nasher Sculpture Center (Renzo Piano); 5) Winspear Opera House (Norman Foster) and Wyly Theatre (Rem Koolhaas) in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

If sports are up your alley, take a tour of the biggest and brightest star in the NFL — the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium — or catch a game (the Titans come for a showdown Sunday afternoon, October 10). All the local professional sports teams could be playing this time of year, from the NBA Dallas Mavericks and NHL Dallas Stars (at American Airlines Center in Dallas) to the MLB Texas Rangers (at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, next to the Cowboys home turf). And let’s not forget year-round golf: the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas, home of the PGA’s Byron Nelson Championship, is less than one mile from the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas.
