2011 marked the third consecutive year that MAG Members requested that the Board of Directors hold a short Mid-Year Conference. Almost 100 people braved snow and ice to participate in the event, which was held February 8-9 at the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. Attendance increased 43% over last year’s event. Highlights of the 2011 sessions included:
  • a preconference EMV workshop by STJ Retail
  • an informative look at the legislative landscape from Duncan Douglass of Alston + Bird
  • presentations from three companies that have established or are considering the creation of a mobile network
Before the sessions began, the Advisory Council held a landmark meeting with merchants, acquirers, payment brands, and card issuers to discuss the future of payments acceptance in the United States.
