The MAG’s growth the past few years has been remarkable and it’s because of the atmosphere each of you has helped create, an atmosphere of collaboration both among merchants and our sponsors.

The Merchant Advisory Group (MAG) has 115 members as of March 2017! A listing of the most recent MAG members can be found towards the bottom of this newsletter issue. The MAG continues to be led by a very passionate and committed Board of Directors and members who are incredibly engaged in committees and task forces.  All are committed to growing the MAG and enhancing the knowledge of merchant payment professionals. MAG conferences, a key component of our education and outreach efforts, have shown continued growth.  We had 400 attendees for the 2017 Mid-Year Conference in Atlanta, double our attendance in 2014. We expect record numbers in Orlando in September for the MAG Annual Conference.

Our plans for education in 2017 are robust with goals for at least 10 webinars conducted by subject matter experts including MAG members, sponsors as well as our strategic partners.  We will offer 101 and 201 level education sessions allowing you to continue to further broaden your team members’ knowledge.  When new members come on board we often ask them what they hope to get out of their membership? We consistently hear” networking” at the top of everyone’s list.  Your attendance and participation at MAG conferences make the MAG the place to be for merchants in payments.  Many of you have said to us you can’t afford to miss MAG events!   We encourage you to bring your team members and continue the reach out to new members and participants who may be unaware of MAG opportunities.

Have you logged into Member Resources lately? The benefits and resources found here are yet another reason merchants join the MAG. There’s a wealth of information to be found in recorded webinars, best practices, MAG CyberRisk Hub®, presentations and publications.

Would you like to interface more with MAG members? Join a committee or task force!  The MAG needs you. Most committee members say they get more out of their MAG membership and grow their payments knowledge by being involved. We appreciate your feedback and contributions, and if you are interested in joining a committee or task force, please contact me at kari.hartley@merchantadvisorygroup.org. It’s going to be a great year to be part of the MAG!
