Operations Quarterly Update: Moving the needle through collaboration: Introducing the Operations Quarterly Update (MAG Quarterly- Volume Six, Issue One)

By Laura Townsend, SVP, Operations, Merchant Advisory Group

March 8, 2018

In 2017 the Operations Committee was formed with the objectives to identify, prioritize, and execute strategies to improve payments operational challenges that are most relevant to MAG merchant members.

Also in 2017, the MAG issued a “call to action” to the networks and the Digital Commerce Committee was formed in an effort to collaborate and define a new approach to balancing the risk/reward relationship for digital commerce transactions that will incent an equitable co-investment in authentication strategies among stakeholders in the ecosystem.

These committees have worked diligently to drive forward the Network Best Practices on behalf of all merchants, and the recent the announcement of signature elimination by Discover, MasterCard, American Express, and Visa are a testament to the positive impact that MAG members can make when we work collaboratively to influence the payments ecosystem.

Each quarter we will capture the key accomplishments and focus areas of these Committees to highlight the progress we’re making but more importantly help our members understand how they can get engaged in our efforts to have a “seat at the table” on current and future developments that impact us.

We’d love to hear your feedback on this quarterly update so that we are providing our members with the information that will help us to collectively move the needle!
