Optional Education Session - Contactless 101: Why, What and How

Are EMV contact and contactless the same? If I support EMV contact and have the contactless hardware in place can I just turn on contactless?  What are the impacts for a merchant to support contactless (beyond what has been done for contact EMV)? Can I still keep my debit routing preference when I support contactless? If you have wondered about the answers to any of these questions, you don’t know how to answer them or just want to learn more about how contactless works, this session is for you.  During the session we will cover all you need to know in order to make a decision on whether to support contactless, how does contactless work and most importantly how does it impact you as a merchant.

Presenter: Itai Sela (B2 Payments)
10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Optional Education Session - Debit Routing 201: Think You’re Optimal? Think Again.

Truly optimized debit routing remains the biggest opportunity for merchants to reduce their payments costs today. But exactly what does optimal routing mean, and how can you ensure you’re getting the most value from your supplier?  Understanding the nuances behind your routing preferences is extremely complex. Merchants need a firm understanding of their existing arrangements; the inherent challenges of optimizing; and the opportunities available to them in order to maximize the financial benefits. In this 201 session, CMSPI will take an in-depth look at the PIN debit market – exploring how recent technological developments and innovations can help merchants to optimize.

Presenters: Callum Godwin (CMSPI), CJ Brown (CMSPI), Alistair Matthewson (CMSPI)
