EMV 3D Secure – Reduce Friction & Minimize Risk by Securing eCommerce Transactions

EMV 3D Secure is a messaging protocol developed by EMVCo to enable customers to authenticate themselves with their card issuer when making card-not-present (CNP) ecommerce purchases. In this session we’ll dive deep into how EMV 3DS works and how a merchant would implement it. We’ll examine and break down the EMV 3DS specs into 3 parts by discussing these main topics:

  • Reduce Fraud
  • Increase Approval Rates
  • Reduce friction at checkout

Presenter: Diego Szteinhendler (Mastercard)

The Rise Of The Robots – How Robotic Process Automation Fits Into Your Payment Technology Solutions

Let’s explore how Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can help in the payment technology space by increasing productivity, reducing costs and eliminating human errors. Rather than uprooting and replacing existing legacy tools, bots can push and pull data between new and old applications and simulate human movement at the point-of-sale device. Many merchants today are using RPA tools to automate multiple testing processes such as regression testing and certification testing to simulate human interactive testing, such as:

• Testing scripts can be lengthy and takes a large number of resource hours
• Humans become fatigued and prone to making more errors with limited hours
• Manual testing doesn’t provide sufficient scale or enable load testing

SRC: A New Digital Payment Experience – How To Evaluate Your Options?

Last October a promise for a faster and secure online checkout was launched by the major global payment networks.  This digital payment experience based on the new EMV® Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) industry standard promises to provide a simplified way for card payments to be made across web and mobile sites, mobile apps and connected devices.  Panelists will discuss how IT and business professionals may evaluate integration options to an SRC initiator (SRCi) for purposes of SRC acceptance on the retailers’ digital channels.  During this session, hear from a panel of stakeholders on the SRCi options available today and coming soon to market along with the features and capabilities for each.  Key takeaways from this session will be a high level understanding of the SRCi role, the SRCi providers currently available, and the value proposition of each.

Moderator: Beth Costa (Oliver Wyman)
Presenters: Joe Vasterling (Best Buy), Steve Cole (FIS), Dan Macias (Visa), Ryan Beaudry (Mastercard)

Insourcing vs. Outsourcing:  Deciding to Build, Partner or Buy New Technology to Enhance your Experience

Keeping up with customer expectations is demanding, and it can be a difficult decision whether or not to build new features and functionality internally or find an existing solution to use or acquire. In this session, you will learn how others have weighed the decision on insourcing versus outsourcing, and how to vet the right technology and company to enhance your customer experience and loyalty.

Cloud Usage Evolution

As more volume is moving to the cloud, new questions are emerging for merchants to contemplate.  Initially, the security of the cloud providers has been questioned.  Are the public clouds as secure as a private cloud or hosted environment?  Once that is confirmed, merchants must understand the different capabilities of the various cloud providers to make an informed selection.  The value added services that each cloud provides continues to grow daily so remaining current is a struggle for merchants.  Lastly, as both processing and data storage volume begins to move to the first cloud provider selected, the merchant must decide on a single cloud solution or dual cloud solution.  Based on the needs of the merchants and the capabilities of the cloud providers segregating volumes across multiple providers can be warranted.
