Credit cards, which store a vast amount of personally identifiable information to validate purchases, were not invented for the Internet, where that data can be manipulated for fraudulent spending. The safest and easiest way to shop online should be a type of digital cash that can be transmitted "peer-to-peer." That is effectively how Bitcoin operates. Bitcoin is a worldwide spending network that can introduce merchants to an international market that traditional payment methods can't. While the US has dollars and Europe has euros, Bitcoin has planted itself as being the currency of the Internet with the potential to change the way value is shared and transmitted all over the world.

Sonny is the Chief Commercial Officer for BitPay where he is responsible for growing the growing customer base. BitPay is one of the largest processors of bitcoin in the world and has raised over $30 million in funding from Founders Fund, Richard Branson, and Index Ventures. Previously, Sonny was part of the founding sales team at Jumio where he was the Vice President of Sales & Business Development. During his tenure, Jumio raised over $40 million in funding and grew to over 200 employees. His team was responsible for signing up over 500 customers including half of the top 10 internet companies.
