Information provided will be headlines on the VCR implementation and any learnings to date since its April 2018 implementation as well as a high level summary overview of the upcoming changes announced by the card brands which may be relevant to your industry.

Presenter: Kim Arwood-Slate (Director, First Data)

With over 30 years’ experience in financial services, Kim Arwood-Slate, a Director on the Leadership Team for First Data Disputes Organization for North America, serving the Merchant and Consumer business.  She joined the Disputes team in May of 1988 and has been focusing on Client Education / Training and Quality.   As part of the Leadership Team, which has responsibility for the processing of $6B annual Merchant Disputes inventory.  In her current role she has been instrumental in implementing ongoing efficiencies, merchant facing improvements and the integration of the EMV liability shift into the financial eco system.

Dawn Shaefer (Director, First Data)

Shaefer_DawnDawn Shaefer is Business Risk Director for First Data’s Payments Acceptance group, providing support to multiple solutions to both merchants and issuing banks.  With 18 years of experience in the Financial Industry and 14 years managing Payments with First Data.  Prior to managing the Payments Acceptance Training and Communication team, she spent several years as a Program Director managing efforts for our IT Infrastructure team, Analytics & Information team, as well as the customer call center.   Additionally, she has spent several years managing call center teams who provided customers with training on processing payments and troubleshooting terminals. Her teams work with internal partners to educate them around the card brand rules and ensure clients operate in a manner consistent with those rules.  The teams also assist customers with determining strategies to implement large card brand changes when necessary. Prior to First Data, Dawn held positions at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage managing Business Services Teams.  Dawn is a graduate of University of Phoenix and Bellevue University with an AS degree in Business Management and a BS degree in Business Administration.
