Dear MAG member,

COVID-19 Government Update

On Friday, March 27, President Trump signed HR 748, The CARES Act into law. The largest relief package in U.S. history, the law provides direct payments to Americans and expands unemployment insurance. It also gives loans and grants to businesses, additional funds to states and resources to health-care providers.

As of April 3, the U.S. has reported more than 245,500 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the most of any country, and more than 6,000 deaths. Information and guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is available here.

The U.S. is preparing for a prolonged shutdown and more states have ordered residents to stay at home.

John’s Tips for Working Remotely

As you may be aware, MAG CEO John Drechny made the transition to the MAG remote workplace environment in July 2018. As the country’s workforce moves to remote working, John shared tips to make working remotely successful in this LinkedIn post.

We are all in this together. We are focused on supporting the merchant community’s efforts to serve your associates and customers, especially during this challenging time. As we all navigate this "new normal," MAG remains committed to serving our merchant members, collaborating with payments system stakeholders, and partnering with aligned associations to represent the merchants' voice on payments-related issues.

Please email John Drechny if there is anything we can do to help you and your company during this unprecedented time.

Thank you,
MAG Staff
