Education Committee goals and strategies

Meeting Frequency:

The Education Steering Committee will meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month, from 11:00am – 11:45am CST.

Steering Committee Duties and Responsibilities:

With a goal of providing timely and informative education to MAG members and industry partners, the Education Steering Committee is responsible for: 

  • Provide guiding input on organizational education strategy, content, and delivery of educational 
  • content exploring the impact and implications of industry practices in the payments ecosystem.
  • Ensure educational materials are thorough and relay information that includes, but is not limited 
  • to, benefits, costs, legal and operational implications, risks, and emerging payments topics.
  • Obtain timely and regular input from members, and industry partners, on the development of 
  • webinar, eLearning, and new educational content.

Steering Committee Member Expectations:

We rely on our Steering Committee members to shape current and future educational opportunities. As such, they are expected to: 

  • Attend and actively participate in at least 10 of the 12 annual meetings.
  • Respond to and promote periodic surveys, participate in content review opportunities and other 
  • special requests between and during MAG events.
  • Interact with and promote MAG educational content, both within the website and MAG Learning 
  • Center (MLC) and via Social Media Channels.
  • Participate in engaging discussions exploring MAG’s future education strategy and expanding into 
  • new learning opportunities.

Priorities

  • Build foundational merchant payments education and reduce learning curve for new payments professionals
  • Build merchant knowledge on current events and relevant topics
  • Build merchant knowledge through networking and peer-to-peer discussions
