Getting Involved with the MAG

Getting Involved with the MAG
Kristi Simonett Director, Membership Engagement and Sponsorship Programs Merchant Advisory Group
Dec 22, 2022

Greetings!  This is my first opportunity to highlight our MAG Membership and Sponsorship efforts since joining the MAG, which is very exciting for me! I joined the MAG staff in September with many years in the payments industry working at JPMorgan, Discover, and American Express.  Joining the MAG was a great opportunity for me as I attribute the strength of my payments relationships and education over the years to my involvement with the MAG.  For those that I have not had the pleasure of meeting to date, I hope to meet you soon at our upcoming Mid-Year Conference in San Antonio Feb. 13-16, 2023.  We have an exciting agenda planned and expect another conference with record attendance!

Welcome New MAG Members and Sponsors

As of December 6, 2022, the MAG has welcomed 25 new merchant members and 23 new sponsors in 2022.  Please join us in welcoming them in person at an upcoming conference or via email.  (As a reminder, an additional member benefit of the MAG is the ability to search our Member and Annual Sponsor Directory).

Time to Renew Your MAG Merchant Membership for 2023!

On December 5, we sent each primary merchant member an email containing the MAG 2023 Membership Dues Renewal along with our 2022 Annual Report, which outlines MAG’s accomplishments over the past year.  The strength of the MAG Membership allows us to provide many valuable benefits, including but not limited to:

  • Engagement:  MAG merchant members have many ways to get involved with their peers by joining Committees, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and/or Communities of Practice (COPs), just to name a few. We encourage you to review these opportunities on our website and get involved!
  • MAG conferences:  MAG merchant members receive 5 complimentary attendance to our conferences (based on membership level), with the opportunity to network with merchant peers and sponsors and hear from industry-leading speakers who focus on the latest payment-industry trends, including innovations in payments.
  • Payments Education: Exclusive access to educational resources including our Payments 101 Series and our just completed Payments 200 Series.  We continue to hear wonderful reviews of this eLearning payments education opportunity.

As we close the year, we would like to say thank you to all our members and sponsors for your continued support of the MAG!  We look forward to your participation and contributions in the coming year.  We are here for you and available to address any questions you have about MAG benefits and the many opportunities for your involvement.
