MAG Efforts on SRC and Launch of KnowYourPayments Tokenization Page

Feb 22, 2019

As you may recall, EMVCo announced they made a draft version of the EMVCo Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) technical specifications available for public comment.

As you know, MAG has been following the developments of SRC since we were made aware of the initiative back in fall of 2017. We felt it was a good time to provide an update on MAG efforts to date and the current MAG position on SRC.  Included here is a link to an interview with CMSpi as well as a current MAG position paper regarding Secure Remote Commerce for your reference.

Please contact Laura Townsend if you have any questions, concerns, or comments regarding our efforts or current position on SRC and/or if you are interested in joining the MAG Community of Practice on this effort which requires a significant level of interest, some level of technical expertise, and could span the better part of the next 12 months.

Know Your Payments' Launches New Resource on Tokenization

MAG's "Know Your Payments" (KYP) initiative is designed to educate merchants, policy makers, and payments influencers on important and complex payments issues. As a payments professional, you are aware that Tokenization is a complicated subject matter.  With that in mind, we created a new, user-friendly webpage with helpful infographics that are designed to simplify the concept. Click here to visit the new page and learn more.

The new page depicts the process using eye-catching, colorful diagrams accompanied by frequently-asked questions, with the goal of clarifying misconceptions around tokenization and educating our KYP audience on its numerous benefits.

At a time when the safety of personal data is in the national spotlight, tokenization plays a key role in payments. We will promote this new page on our social media channels (primarily Twitter @SmarterPayments) and share it with media outlets, policymakers, and trade association allies to create and build engagement with KYP.

Please contact Beth Provenzano with any questions.
