Dating back to our inaugural payments event in October 2008, our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have been some of the highest-rated sessions at every conference. What started as round table discussions during the last hour of our conference, SIGs have been standardized into two one-hour merchant-only sessions, allowing merchants of various industry verticals to discuss the topics that mean the most to them.

During our 2024 Payments MAGnified conference, 274 unique merchant individuals from 118 retail companies participated in one of our seven SIGs. Merchant co-leaders help drive the conversation during these sessions, while a facilitator captures anonymized notes. Numerous topics are discussed in concurrent SIGs, although the context is typically unique to the industry vertical while some topics are specific to a given SIG. Merchants can access the notes from these sessions on our MAG Learning Center

We also brought back SIGs and Snacks at Payments MAGnified 2024. 130 members attended this casual merchant-only session. What a great opportunity to meet new people and discuss solutions to issues merchants may not have thought of before. This unformatted session allows merchants to interact with other members in a way that promotes building new relationships and fostering the bond between merchants.

If you’re interested in becoming a merchant co-leader for one of our SIGs, feel free to contact Kelly Andrus to learn more about this unique opportunity.
